The Food Whisperer Healthy Shake
The first meal of the day is most important so why not have a complete and raw and nutritional meal! It is always best to drink clean purified water when you wake before digesting anything. Here are some tips for my personal replacement shake. I love to pre-freeze my fruits because it preserves then to last longer and it gives a great texture to my shake. Place the raw spinach or dark green leaf veggies first, and then add the entire ingredient. Make sure that you blend for an extended amount of time as to dissolve the all the ingredient extremely well for better digestion. Then Enjoy!! Know that you are feeding your body for the entire day.
1 Cup & half of Milk Alternative
3-5 Frozen Strawberries
1/4 cup of Frozen Blueberries
1 Banana
2 Tablespoon of Yogurt
3 Caps of Omega 3 Oil
1 Cup of Raw Oats
1 Tablespoon of Raw Cocoa
1 Tablespoon of Bee Pollen
Raw Green Vegetables
Dark green leafy vegetables are calorie for calorie, perhaps the most concentrated source of nutrition of any food. They are a rich source of minerals (including iron, calcium, potassium, and magnesium) and vitamins, including vitamins K, C, E, and many of the B vitamins. They also provide a variety of phytonutrients including beta-carotene, lutein, and zeaxanthin, which protect our cells from damage and our eyes from age-related problems, among many other effects. Dark green leaves even contain small amounts of Omega-3 fats. Perhaps the star of these nutrients is Vitamin K. A cup of most cooked greens provides at least nine times the minimum recommended intake of Vitamin K, and even a couple of cups of dark salad greens usually provide the minimum all on their own. Recent research has provided evidence that this vitamin may be even more important than we once thought (the current minimum may not be optimal), and many people do not get enough of it.
Almond Milk
Almond milk is a great alternative to cow's milk because it does not contain saturated fat, which has the bad cholesterol that can lead to heart disease. Made into butter, almond milk can be used as a healthy substitute for real butter. It also contains none of the animal hormones, chemicals or antibiotics that are normally found in cow's milk. Most almond milk manufacturers routinely add vitamins A, D, E and the mineral calcium to their product to make it more competitive with animal-derived enriched milk. Commercial almond milk also contains a modest amount of fiber as well as the trace minerals zinc, iron, phosphorus and magnesium. If you have problems digesting lactose or gluten, almond milk is ideal because it's lactose- and gluten-free. If you're at risk for high blood pressure, almond milk is safe because it's low in sodium.
Coconut Milk
Coconut milk has the health benefit of boosting the immune system and fighting off bacteria and germs. Coconut milk contains lauric acid that has anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, anti-fungal and anti-viral properties. As such, coconut milk can help to strengthen the immune system by getting rid of stomach bacteria, the flu, colds, sore throat and a range of illnesses. Just add coconut milk to rice or curries and take advantage of its germs-fighting properties. Another health benefit of coconut milk is that it is used in skin and hair care. Coconut milk is used in many commercial hair and skin care products to hydrate, moisturize, repair and heal the skin and the hair. Therefore coconut milk is a great natural product you can use to make a homemade remedy for healthy skin and hair. Coconut milk is also beneficial to the heart. Coconut milk contains lauric acid that helps to keep the arteries and heart clean and healthy. And although coconut milk contains saturated fats, the presence of lauric acid and other beneficial acids in coconut milk make it perfect against heart disease and atherosclerosis.
Strawberries
When looking for strawberry nutrition facts, you'll find that nothing packs a bigger nutritional punch than this little berry. Prized in ancient Rome for their medicinal uses, strawberries are recognized as having more vitamin C than some citrus fruits. They are also high in fiber, folate, potassium and antioxidants, making them a natural means of reducing the chances of heart disease, high blood pressure
Bananas
A banana contains Vitamin C, potassium and dietary fiber and do not contain sodium, fat or cholesterol. The Vitamin C, which is found in bananas, helps the body to defend and heal against infections. This vitamin also proves valuable in the synthesis of the connective tissue, absorption of iron and the formation of blood. Not only are bananas rich in vitamin C, they also contain potassium. Potassium is a mineral that helps in the building of muscles and protein synthesis. This is done as potassium stimulates nerve impulses for muscle contraction. A diet rich in potassium is said to reduce the risk of hypertension and stroke. As bananas are free from sodium and very rich in potassium, they can be included in the diet to reduce the risk of high blood pressure. A banana thus gives an instant and substantial boost of energy. A banana contains Vitamin B6, which helps in the synthesis of antibodies in the immune system apart from red blood formation, protein metabolism and functioning of the central nervous system. No other fruit contain more digestible carbohydrates than bananas.
Blueberries
In laboratory animal studies, researchers have found that blueberries help protect the brain from oxidative stress and may reduce the effects of age-related conditions such as Alzheimer's disease or dementia. Researchers found that diets rich in blueberries significantly improved both the learning capacity and motor skills of aging animals, making them mentally equivalent to much younger ones
Plain Yogurt
With protein, calcium, magnesium, riboflavin, vitamins B-6 and B-12, and more, plain low-fat or non-fat yogurt is as nutritious as skim milk. In fact, yogurt does milk one better because its active cultures help digest the naturally occurring sugar (lactose) in milk that can cause bloating and diarrhea in some people.
Omega 3 oil
Omega 3 fatty acids are poly-unsaturated fatty acids. Studies show that a diet rich in omega 3 fatty acids may help lower triglycerides and increase HDL cholesterol (the good cholesterol). Omega 3 fatty acids may also act as an anticoagulant to prevent blood from clotting. Several other studies also suggest that these fatty acids may help lower high blood pressure. Omega 3 fatty acids may protect against the accumulation in the body of a protein believed to be linked to Alzheimer's disease, according to the results of a new animal study published in the March 2005 issue of The Journal of Neuroscience. This study specifically investigated one particular kind of omega 3 fatty acids - Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), and the results are encouraging.
Raw Oats
Oats are considered a “superfood” because of the vast array of essential nutrients that are not only needed by the body but also boost overall health. Oats are a cereal grain that provides complex carbohydrates, B vitamins, fiber, and minerals such as phosphorous, iron, selenium, and calcium. In addition to promoting heart health, oats offer the following health benefits. Complex carbohydrates such as oats not only lowers the risk of heart disease, but also reduce the risk of stroke and certain cancers and helps lower high blood pressure. Carbohydrates also contain tryptophan, a nonessential amino acid that improves mood. The specific type of fiber found in oats not only promotes a healthy digestive system by helping prevent constipation, but also helps control blood sugar levels. Because of the fiber, oats have a low impact on blood sugar levels and may help reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Studies also show that high-fiber foods help control appetite, which is a plus for those trying to lose weight.
Raw Cocoa Powder
You may be surprised to learn that cocoa is actually a FRUIT - and even more surprised to learn that it is actually one of the most healthy fruits commonly eaten by man! Recent research studies have shown a link between cocoa and cardiovascular health, with reduced risk of blood clots, strokes, and heart attacks. Cornell University food scientists discovered that cocoa powder has nearly twice the antioxidants of red wine, and up to three times the antioxidants found in green tea. Raw cocoa has the highest antioxidant value of all the natural foods in the world! The ORAC score per 100 grams of unprocessed raw cacao is 28,000, compared to 18,500 for Acai Berries, 1,540 for Strawberries, and only 1,260 for raw Spinach. Cocoa also appears to have anti-aging and anti-inflammatory properties. And cocoa is a good source of the minerals magnesium, sulphur, calcium, iron, zinc, copper, potassium, and manganese; plus some of the B Vitamins. When heart problems occur, magnesium is the most likely mineral to be missing in the person's diet. Cocoa has a high content of the "beauty" mineral, sulfur. Sulfur helps build strong nails and hair, promotes healthy and beautiful skin, helps detoxify the liver, and supports healthy functioning of the pancreas. Fresh cocoa beans are super-rich in the type of bioflavonoid called flavanols which are strong antioxidants that help maintain healthy blood flow and blood pressure. The heart-healthy flavanols in cocoa, especially the epicatechins, prevent fatty substances in the bloodstream from oxidizing and then clogging the arteries. You may also be surprised to learn that dark chocolate can help you lose weight! Because it has appetite-suppressant properties, cocoa is often added to weight loss products to help control hunger.
Raw Bee Pollen
The benefits of bee pollen are vast. It has been scientifically researched and proven to be an immune booster, a reliable source of acquiring vitamins and minerals in the body, and has a wide array of essential proteins. Bee pollen has been shown to increase sexual functions in men, as well as increase libido in women. Bee pollen actually stimulates each and every organ in the body as well as the glands. The pollen that comes from the bee has been linked to a longer life span and increased longevity. It is said in general to rejuvenate the body including the skin. Another common finding in studies involving bee pollen is that it can be used as a weight loss alternative as well as showing some appetite suppressant properties. One of the most important bee pollen facts is that it is rich in antioxidants The antioxidants in bee pollen are compounds chemists call flavonoids. Bee pollen packs the punch of myricetin, quercetin, rutin, and trans-cinnamic acid. You don't need to remember their names, but take a look at what they can do for you. Myricetin helps white blood cells soak up the "bad" LDL cholesterol out of the bloodstream. Quercetin is a natural antihistamine - the right kind of pollen can be beneficial for your allergies! Rutin is best known as the remedy for varicose veins. Rutin protects veins throughout the body and may help prevent cancer as well. Your body uses trans-cinnamic acid to make its own antibiotics, and this potent nutrient also powers the detoxifying processes of the liver.
